LinkedIn isn’t so much a social network in the way that Facebook or Instagram are, where you’re keeping track of people’s social and personal lives, but a network where you’re keeping track of their professional lives. So as you can imagine, it’s super important to make sure that your business page is looking it’s best. LinkedIn can be a little bit harder to build a following on than other platforms, but as long as people can find you and your services when they’re trying to, you’re golden! Here are a few tips to help make sure you’re ready to Link!
Build up your personal profile
The easiest way to increase traffic to your business page is to increase the traffic to your personal page first. Make sure your company is listed in your experience first, of course. It’s very important to have a polished profile, people with professional profile pictures get 14x more traffic on their pages! Also make sure to connect with people you meet at networking events or conferences. You never know who may end up needing your products or services!
Join Targeted Groups
Similar to Facebook, LinkedIn has groups you can join based on topics or industries. They are the untold treasure of the website! It can be very easy to connect with people you never would’ve known otherwise, as well as a great way for people to find your products and services!
Share information that’s not about you.
This one sounds counter productive, but I promise it’s not! It’s a great practice to be sharing articles, videos, photos, etc. that aren’t about you and your business specifically, but about either your industry, city/area, or something that has to do with what you offer. If you seem well aware and connected with what’s going on, people will be much more likely to want to work with you. Keep the news flowing through your page with 2-3 posts about something besides yourself a day!
Create a Showcase Page
Showcase Pages give businesses the opportunities to create separate pages within the company profile to promote different types of their business. People can follow these without following your main page, which makes them very attractive to those who are only looking for information about specific topics. These are best to be used if you offer multiple services, or even if you offer your services for different industries!
It can take a lot of time to build up your LinkedIn following and business page, but it’s also such a great way to find new customers and business opportunities, so it’s worth it! Happy Linking!
